Active not only as a political cartoonist, but also in the field of contemporary art, Dan Perjovschi has developed a special language in which drawing, cartoon, graffiti and conceptual art converge. The open, minimalistic humour found in his works plays with the contradictory effects of ideologies and consumer culture. Perjovschi responds to the topic of de-integration with a site-specific intervention in the Palais am Festungsgraben’s stairwell.

Dan Perjovschi, born 1961 in Sibiu, lives and works in Bucharest and Sibiu. Solo shows include Magasin CAC Grenoble (2015), Kiasma, Helsinki (2013) and MoMA, New York (2007), as well as group shows including the Jakarta Biennial (2015), Paris Triennial (2012) and the Biennale di Venezia (2007). Perjovschi received the Rosa Schapire Prize (2016). He previously participated in the 1. Berliner Herbstsalon.
