Nidaa Badwan’s 100 Days of Solitude project, is a series of composing photographic self-portraits. These pictures depict the artist in her room during her self-imposed exile, which started on November 13th, 2013 and lasted for twenty months. In her isolation the artist created her own world in her little room while outside in Gaza Strip everything was dominated by war and violent conflict. She arranged and rearranged her room to ensemble different settings in reference to the Dutch masters of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Nidaa Badwan, born 1987 in Abu Dhabi, Palestinian citizen, lived in Gaza City for many years and works in the republic of San Marino today. Her works were shown internationally, a.o. at Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (2017), Museum for Moderne Kunst i Kolding (2016), UNTITLED Art Fair, Miami (2016) and the French Institute
of Jerusalem (2015). In 2017 Badwan spoke on the UNESCO conference in Cartago.
