In its location between the Reichstag and the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, between Potsdamer Platz and Tiergarten, the Platz des 18. März (Square of the 18th of March) highlights the image of a new, different Germany. At the same time, this square, with its special history, has also become a place of international solidarity in recent years. During the 3. Berliner Herbstsalon (Third Berlin Autumn Salon), Monument by Manaf Halbouni will be exhibited at this location. The installation consists of three vertically erected buses, which serve as a memorial for peace and solidarity with victims in conflicts around the world. They will take their place between the Siegessäule (Victory Column) and the Unter den Linden boulevard with its numerous monuments. Separating the Quadriga, which quotes the Babylonian god Marduk's chariot, from the Siegessäule, which recalls Prussia's victories over Denmark, Austria and France, Monument will remind us of the time and misery between the beginning and end of war. Both goddesses face in opposite directions and will be turning their backs to Monument. Let us not turn our backs on the situation in Syria. We'll establish this Monument on the Platz des 18. März!

Banu Cennetoğlu
This list documents the names of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants who have lost their lives within or at Europe's borders since 1993 (updated: 15.06.2017). The information is compiled and updated by a pan-European network called UNITED for Intercultural Action. Since 2006, artist Banu Cennetoğlu has been collaborating with other artists and cultural institutions to present the updated and translated list on billboards and other surfaces in public spaces.

Delaine/ Damian Le Bas and LSD// Lenore Blievernicht/ Leonard Neumann perform at the sandy area between the Gorki and Humboldt University, Henrik Schrat at the exterior wall of the Magnus-Haus garden, Dorotheenstraße, opposite the Gorki garden.
